Biography
Chris has been photographing the American West for over 20 years. He seeks out places and views rarely or never photographed before. Frequently, his images are made far from any road – places that can only be reached on foot with a backpack full of cameras and lenses. He uses his camera as another way to explore the places he visits, bringing his images a sense of discovery and delight. Ansel Adams once said: “Both the grand and the intimate aspects of nature can be revealed in the expressive photograph. Both can stir enduring affirmations and discoveries, and can surely help the spectator in his search for identification with the vast world of natural beauty and the wonder surrounding him.” This sentiment is the heart of Chris’ photographic journey. Chris lives with his wife Bethany in Northern California.
